Saudi Health Ministry Launches 5th “Walk 30” at Sports Boulevard

RIYADH: The fifth "Walk 30" will be held at Sports Boulevard's Sands Sports Park on April 26th, according to a Ministry of Health announcement.

Held in partnership with the Sports Boulevard Foundation, the initiative promotes a healthy lifestyle by encouraging walking as a daily habit. It is part of the Healthcare Sector Transformation Program under Vision 2030, which aims to increase life expectancy to 80 years by 2030.

Launched in 2019 as part of the “Live Well” initiative, “Walk 30” is the Kingdom’s largest walking event, encouraging people to walk 150 minutes per week to prevent health issues and promote longevity. It is also the largest digital health challenge in Saudi Arabia, with over 1 million participants tracked via the Sehhaty app.

Jayne McGivern, CEO of Sports Boulevard Foundation, expressed pride in hosting the event, emphasizing the organization’s commitment to fostering a sustainable sports environment that encourages public health and physical activity.

The initiative has received global recognition, winning the Kotler Award for Best Health and Wellness Campaign. The Ministry of Health continues to develop innovative strategies to promote sustainable, healthy lifestyles, reduce chronic diseases, and improve quality of life.

“Walk 30” is a family-friendly event held across the Kingdom, aligning with the vision of “A Vibrant, Healthy Nation.”
